Daniele Lorio
I am a painter raised in the world of art. Some of my earliest memories are of the scent of sawdust and gesso, creating alongside my sculptor father and painter mother. Though I trained as an opera singer at a conservatory and pursued a career in music, I remained deeply connected to visual expression. In my paintings, I explore the emotional resonance of rich color and the interplay between positive and negative space. Simple forms emerge from color fields, inviting a quiet tension that continues to fascinate me.

Ascension
Divine Balance invites the viewer to contemplate the symbolic resonance of the triangle, a form deeply rooted in many spiritual and religious traditions. Often associated with harmony, strength, and transcendence, the triangle has appeared as a sacred motif across cultures—from the Christian Trinity to the Hindu Trimurti, from pyramidal forms in Egyptian iconography to the alchemical symbol for fire. In this painting, the triangle serves as both structure and metaphor: a stable yet dynamic shape that suggests equilibrium between opposing forces—spirit and matter, light and shadow, stillness and movement. Through this work, I aim to evoke a quiet sense of unity and spiritual presence, inviting the viewer into a meditative relationship with form, color, and meaning.
Meditation is a quiet, contemplative piece composed through layered veils of color, each one adding depth and atmosphere. These gentle transitions invite the viewer into a slowed, introspective state—echoing the rhythm of breath or stillness of mind. A single, large circle rests within the composition—not as a focal point, but as a quiet presence. It evokes the idea of unity and unending being, grounding the piece in a sense of calm and continuity. The simplicity of the form, in conversation with the complexity of color, mirrors the meditative experience itself: spacious, subtle, and inwardly expansive.

Meditation
Ascension features the strong outline of a circle containing a partitioned triangle. The internal lines divide the triangle into smaller segments—triangles within a triangle—suggesting that each part contributes to a greater whole. These geometric divisions create a visual rhythm that implies upward movement within the circular form. The composition evokes themes of unity, inner structure, and transcendence, offering a sense of rising beyond the boundaries of the individual toward something more complete and expansive.
