George Lorio
In mythology, nature served as a backdrop or stage for the divine to manifest and interact with the world. Nature has been a manifestation of the divine, reflecting the interconnectedness of the earthly realm and the spiritual realm. During the 19th century, American transcendentalists sought an ideal spiritualism through their intuitive connection to the divine, transcending the established religious doctrines. Nature became the conduit through which they expressed their spiritual vision. In my sculptural practice, I engage in physical manipulation of materials to convey content and realize an art image.
