Katherine Albert
She is out of (your) control, Approximately 12 x 12", Laser-cut acrylic, pen, and paper
Artwork Description
I created this piece after breaking free from a controlling relationship. This breakaway allowed me to fully claim and explore my identity as a queer woman that I was forced to keep hidden and come into my own power. It is a call to action for anyone who has been told they are "too much" or "out of control" – YOU define yourself and your identity, not anyone else. This piece was created almost entirely with the laser cutter in the Loyola Notre Dame Library, with a small handmade paper insert for the tongue.
