Patterns and Play, 14" x 17", Silk screen watercolor monotype print
Artwork Description
This diptych includes a watercolor print and a ghost print meant to explore my relationship with femininity. These prints illustrate my love for playing with patterns and color. I wanted the eyes to stand out; almost in a haunting way, so that it contrasts with the playfulness of the hair. I've enjoyed art nouveau posters and the flowing ethereal hair, and I wanted to channel that. Gender, to me, comes from that ethereal feeling.
