Patrick LaMarche

Patrick LaMarche is a photographer who focuses on capturing detail and transforming ordinary moments into striking images. He loves exploring how light, color, and texture change the way we see something. Working mostly with macro photography and high contrast lighting, he pays attention to details that are often unnoticed. For Patrick, photography is about patience and curiosity, taking time to look closer at the small details that make the image stand out.

“Lady in Blue” from Trace of Light

Trace of Light explores the boundary of what we choose to notice and what we fail to notice. Using prisms to reflect light across the person’s form, I draw attention to fragments that call for focus. The sliver of color that interrupts the grayscale world. Each image invites viewers to question how perception shapes meaning: what becomes significant when illuminated, and what truths remain in the quiet spaces untouched by light.

This Series reflects on the tendency to isolate beauty while overlooking the whole. The colored fragments symbolize the seen and unique parts, while the monochrome symbolizes the unseen and the ignored, and the balance between both. Through this, Trace of Light asks the viewer to look closer and recognize that the unseen tells the same story as the light.
