Savannah Henry
Savannah Henry is a multimedia artist who enjoys working with paint, pastel, and 3D mixed-media elements. Having played violin throughout her life, she developed a strong creative foundation through music before discovering her passion for visual art. Before college, she began exploring painting and sculpture as new ways to express herself, and visual art quickly became her main artistic language. She continues to experiment across different mediums and remains open to all forms of visual expression as she develops her artistic voice.
“Lady”
“Lady” is a 3D sculpture made of gem beads representing a vibrant, curvy woman. The figure features a multicolored head with red lips, a pink torso, and a teal lower body. Behind the sculpture are my original black-and-white sketches of the same woman, drawn during high school.
This installation reimagines those early drawings, which once reflected feelings of restriction and “black and white” thinking about womanhood. By transforming the figure into a colorful, dimensional sculpture, I express my new perspective of being a woman. It is about freedom, vibrancy, confidence, self-acceptance and resilience. “Lady” symbolizes my journey of rediscovering my identity as a woman and celebrating it as something unapologetically bold, beautiful, and alive.
