I am creating my own mythology by combining stories of women's lives and solidarity with my spiritual world. The goddesses (or women) in my paintings can be ordinary women or transcendental beings. The goddesses erased from history by patriarchy, Innumerable oppressed women have been forgotten in the pages of history.

Countless souls burned at the stake. The descendants, lives, and souls you could not burn are intertwined like threads in a tangled skein. Weaving the past, intertwining it with the present, and connecting it to the future, they continuously unite and carry their stories forward. In the moment when that tangled thread begins to unravel, I use the tool of painting to deliver to the world new stories of a universe and destiny intricately bound together.

너를부르다-Summon You

This is a painting included in the installation “A Small Sanctuary for the Soul”. It serves as a visual ritual and prayer—an altar. This installation is a quiet space dedicated to women who have been wounded and forgotten throughout history. As an altar created to honor and remember their existence, the painting unfolds like a sacred scene within it. It captures a moment of unbroken solidarity among women—a bond that has continued since the beginning of time. This continuous connection is symbolized through “daenggi meori, “the Korean traditional motif of braided hair. The strands of hair intertwine, embracing one another—entangling pain, comfort, and memory. These memories, passed down through generations, will continue to weave themselves forward, endlessly.
